Checks & free quota
- ›How many checks are free? — Currently 3 per week. The quota resets weekly.
- ›Need more checks? — A Pro subscription or Lifetime (unlimited within fair use), a credit pack (one-time, no subscription), or 3 extra checks via an invite code.
- ›Quick vs. Thorough? — Quick uses one model (~6 s). Thorough has multiple models cross-check each other and adds online sources (~18 s).
Redeeming an invite code
In the app: Settings → Invite Friends → Redeem Invite Code, enter the code (6 characters) — done. Both sides receive 3 extra checks each. Important: only new accounts can redeem, and only one code per account. Details on the invite page.
Canceling a subscription & restoring purchases
- ›Cancel: iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → FakeCheck → Cancel Subscription, or directly via apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before expiry, otherwise the subscription renews automatically.
- ›Restore purchases: In the app under Settings → “Restore Purchases” (e.g. after switching devices).
- ›Refunds: App Store purchases are handled by Apple — submit requests at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Deleting your account & data
Right in the app: Settings → About → Delete Account. All server data is removed within 30 days. App won’t open anymore? Write to [email protected] — we’ll delete it manually. More on the Delete account page.
Questions about the verdict
- ›Why UNSURE? — The models disagreed, or confidence was below 70%. We don’t guess in that case — see Methodology.
- ›Can the verdict be wrong? — Yes. AI detection is probability-based, not proof. Treat the verdict as strong evidence, not as certainty.
- ›Are my images stored? — Only for the analysis, 24 hours at most. Your history keeps verdicts, not images — see the Privacy Policy.
